Chest Dermal Piercings
Where Did You Get Your Chest Dermal Piercing Done and How Much Did it Cost?
I got my chest micro-dermals done at Essential Beauty here in Australia, it cost $40, I got it done by the female piercer there her name is Ray and I get all my dermals done by her, she is great, she always does it as quickly as possible and does a brilliant job.
Was it Painful?
Getting my chest piercing done was very painful because it hurt my whole chest and for a few hours after my whole chest hurt.
How Did Your Chest Dermal Heal?
After you get a dermal done they will put a bandaid on and I keep mine on for a week after I get the piercing done just to ensure that the skin has healed enough for it to not fall out easily.
Especially on my chest, because I’m fairly skinny so there isn’t much flesh on my chest so my sternum is pretty much right behind the dermal. I generally change my bandaid morning and night to ensure that I have a clean bandaid on at all times.
I also make sure to clean the dry blood from around the jewelry off very gently with a Q-tip. I also get warm water and put salt water in it and then dip cotton balls into it and hold it on the piercing to soak it and clean it.
How Was Your Experience Getting a Chest Dermal Piercing?
Overall the experience wasn’t too painful, although for a week or so after I got it done I had to be very careful with sleeping and laying down on my side because my boobs would push on it and it would irritate it.
My dermal is fully healed and I never have any problems with it, sometimes I forget I even have it. It’s a beautiful form of self-expression. I get compliments on it often!
What Tips Do You Have for Others Considering Getting Chest Dermal Piercings?
My advice would be to get it if you want it. I really enjoy my chest dermal piercings. I think they draw attention to my collarbones, which I really love. In my opinion, they look good on just about anyone and they are affordable for most budgets.
Wrist Dermal Piercing
Where Did You Get Your Wrist Dermal Piercing Done and How Much Did it Cost?
I got my wrist dermal done at Essential Beauty here in Australia, too. It cost around $40, and I got it done by the same piercer as I normally use. The price that I paid for this piercing was fair. Additionally, I believe this cost is pretty standard among piercing parlors.
Was it Painful?
It was so quick and completely painless. I think most people build up piercings such as this in their heads. The worst part about the piercing process itself, at least for me, is the anticipation. Once I’m out of that waiting room and it’s needle time, the worst part is over.
How Did Your Wrist Dermal Heal?
On this dermal, I kept the bandage on for about 4 days. Because I’m allergic to an ingredient in bandages, I didn’t want to keep it on too long. Since it was in a fleshy area it was in there pretty well, unlike my chest one which had my sternum right behind it. I did clean it for the first week and then I got lazy with it.
How Was Your Experience Getting a Wrist Dermal Piercing?
Overall, my experience with this piercing was completely painless. Getting it done was completely painless. I had no issues throughout the entire healing process, either. Now its’ completely healed and I have never had a problem with it.
What Tips Do You Have for Others Considering Getting Wrist Dermal Piercings?
These particular piercings are not for the faint of heart. They take a good deal of attention and time to take care of. They are especially prone to infection and pain. So, if you are ready to invest that kind of time into the piercing, I say go for it! Piercings aren’t anything permanent – if you don’t like it, simply take it out!
Back Dimples Dermal Piercings
Where Did You Get Your Back Dimples Dermal Piercing Done and How Much Did it Cost?
My back dermals were pierced by my favorite piercing shop in my area. The same piercer, Ray, helped me with these. She is always understanding and patient with me when I come in. Some piercings cause me more anxiety than others, so it’s important to me that I have a piercer that knows what’s going on with me. These were also $40.
Was it Painful?
These, like the wrist dermal, were completely painless.
How Did Your Back Dimple Dermal Heal?
It was kind of difficult to clean these because they were on my back. I obviously couldn’t see them, so I had to get my mum or a friend to carefully clean around them. I kept the bandages on these for ages because they were on my back and I was scared they were going to come out.
How Was Your Experience Getting a Back Dimple Piercing?
Surprisingly, these are one of the easiest piercings I have ever had, they were painless, easy to care for and they healed really quickly. I was scared that because they were on my back, they would hurt when I sat down or laid down but I didn’t even notice them. Now I forget I even have them.
What Tips Do You Have for Others Considering Getting Back Dermal Piercings?
These piercings were super easy getting and they healed quickly. I think back dermal piercings could work for anyone. They can’t be seen over clothing, so if you have a job that restricts piercings, this could be a great option for you. They were fairly hard to clean, so just make sure you have a helper handy for aftercare purposes.
Stomach Dermal Piercings
Where Did You Get Your Stomach Dermal Piercing Done and How Much Did it Cost?
I also got my stomach dermals done here in Australia for $40. It is important to me that anyone who does piercings on me is licensed and accredited. That’s just another reason why I love Essential Beauty.
It also doesn’t hurt that I have a piercer there that I know and trust. I would encourage anyone who wants multiple piercings to have a relationship with their piercer – it makes a big difference!
Was it Painful?
These ones hurt a little less than my chest ones but more than by back and wrist dermals. But they were quick, so it was okay. It’s so important that you only allow experienced professionals to pierce you. An unexperienced piercer can really ruin your experience by taking too long or causing unnecessary pain.
How Did Your Stomach Dermal Heal?
These were the same as all of my other dermals to clean and care for. But, I had to be really careful that they didn’t get caught on my pants or anything. There were a couple of times they did, and it wasn’t fun! They flare up every now and again but I just do a sea salt soak and they are fine.
What Tips Do You Have for Others Considering Getting Stomach Dermal Piercings?
My stomach dermal piercings are some of my favorite ones. If anyone came to me looking for advice, I would just tell them to pay attention to the healing process. Wearing loose-fitting clothing and making sure you don’t snag the jewelry is going to make the process much more pleasant for you.
Collar Bones Back Dimples
Where Did You Get Your Collar Bones Dermal Piercing Done and How Much Did it Cost?
These $40 dermals were done at my go-to parlor. The staff is always welcoming and ready to answer any questions that I have. I love that they are so knowledgable and they don’t try to make you feel stupid for having simple questions. The price is fair and I always enjoy spending time at their shop.
Was it Painful?
These were my most painful dermals by far, I think it was because its a really fleshy and muscly area and because there is two the second one hurts so much more. However, my piercer did everything she could to minimize the pain for me. Overall, looking back on it now, the pain wasn’t too bad.
How Did Your Collar Bone Dermal Heal?
Aftercare for these was the same as every other dermal. As long as you make sure you are keeping the area clean and moisturized, you will have a good experience. In the past, I have sometimes neglected my piercings. I have found that makes the healing process longer and more painful.
How Did You Experience Getting Collar Bone Dermal Piercings?
These ones were painful to get, they were annoying while healing because they were still raw and my clothing would rub on them. This was especially true when I slept. Also, they would hurt every time I moved my collar bone. This is because they are done under my collar bones, but when I move they go on top of my collar bones. Now, they are healed pretty well and I just have to be careful with them.
Overall, I absolutely love all of my dermals. A surprising thing is I have really sensitive skin and my body tends to reject almost all of the regular piercings I get. However, my body doesn’t have a problem with my dermals.
What Tips Do You Have for Others Considering Getting Collar Bone Dermal Piercings?
I would encourage anyone that likes these piercings to get them. The piercing and healing processes were easy for me. I know my experience doesn’t always mean everyone will have the same one, but I have pretty sensitive skin, so I think many can relate to my experience.
Hand Dermal Piercings
Where did you get your Hand Dermal Piercing done and how much did it cost?
I got my hand web done at Essential Beauty here in Australia, it cost $50 I got it done by the female piercer there her name is Ray and I get all my dermals done by her, she is great, she always does it as quickly as possible and does a brilliant job.
Was it Painful?
I didn’t think this would be very painful because it’s only a small bit of skin to go through. However, this was extremely painful. I asked my piercer why this was, and she told me the area has many nerves in it. That usually contributes to how painful it is.
How did your Hand Dermal Heal?
I cleaned it twice a day and tried to care for it as best as I could. Just follow the rules of keeping it clean and hydrated made a big difference. The area is pretty high-traffic, so you have to pay close attention to it. Otherwise, you risk getting an infection or a really atrocious healing process overall.
How was your experience getting a Hand Dermal Piercing?
This was very painful and I regretted getting it done because it never healed and was very hard to live with. Eventually, it’ll grow out. Until then, even though it is a pin, I still like the piercing overall.
What tips do you have for others considering getting Hand Dermal Piercings?
I would say don’t let my bad experience dictate what you do. The things that I go through won’t automatically mean the same for you. The only way you can know how you will react is by going for it. You can do all the research in the world, but first and foremost, personal experience is key.

Hello! My name is Emily and I obsessed with piercings (and tattoos) since I was a little girl of 6 years old. I was fortunate enough to make my passion my work after meeting my amazing husband Jeffrey who owned his own tattoo shop. I just recently finished my internships at some of America’s most famous piercing shops and a dream to start something together was born. After falling in love with each other (and each other’s piercings and tattoos) we decided to expand his tattoo shop and I got to manage my own piercing shop in the same space! I’ve never been so happy being able to share my love for piercings through my shop and this blog I started back in 2013. We love to share models and inspiration, so feel free to email me your suggestions, pictures or if you just want to say hi!
